With the holidays here, some of us like to avoid the crowds by shopping online. I decided to focus more on electronics this year since most of my friends and family are all “wired” in one way or another. So, while there’s still time, here are a few ideas to consider for your holiday gift ideas. You might end up getting these for yourself.
Holiday gift ideas you can get online.
Most smartphones and tablets are Bluetooth enabled. That means they’re capable of wireless transmission and receiving signals (or I can keep it simple by saying Wi-Fi signals). Usually, I have trouble with ear buds staying in my ear. However, newer models now have added a soft silicone frame that can bend to your outer ear. For me, this is better than ear hooks that wrap around your ear. There are several models to choose from. You can definitely find top rated ones for less than $35. They’re great for listening to music or making phone calls without having to hold a large smartphone to your ear. (Alternative headphones on Amazon.ca.)
If you wish to use your bluetooth headset with a non-bluetooth device, like your stereo system, television or older music players, you use to be out of luck. However, there are now transmitters that you can plug into your audio-out jack. When used as a transmitter, you won’t be able to control your stereo with your bluetooth headset. However, now you can enjoy listening wirelessly. When used as an audio receiver, you can use your wired headset and listen to any bluetooth device it’s paired with. Connecting your bluetooth devices is easy when you have a Bluetooth USB adapter. Not only can you connect your PC to a headset, but you can also connect your bluetooth devices as well, such as keyboards, mice, and game controller as well (PS4). Just make sure you devices are bluetooth compatible. (Alternative link on Amazon.ca)
One thing to note in today’s wired world is that all these devices require power. Sure, all these devices come with their own charging adapter that you plug into the wall. However, that’s not an ideal solution if you’re running out of space on your power bar. With the USB hub, you can connect any devices to the computer and charge them as well.
