The RC Millennium Falcon Quad Test Flight

The RC Millennium Falcon Quad Test Flight

The RC Millennium Falcon Quad Test FlightForce Friday happened on September 4th, 2015. This was the day where new Star Wars related toys were released. I was content to ignore this day, as I felt I’ve outgrown their toys.  However, my girlfriend pointed out to me that she wanted to get the BB-8 droid. This prompted me to look up the products and that’s when I saw it, the Air Hogs Star Wars Remote Control Ultimate Millennium Falcon Quad.

So in the end, I bought one. You can see me do a test flight of the RC Millennium Falcon in the video.

Charge using the controller.

Charging: All you need is six AA batteries for the controller (needs a small screwdriver to open) and time to charge the RC Millennium Falcon. You charge the Falcon by plugging in the charge cable from the controller; however you can also charge it by connecting the USB cable to your computer and controller.

The Flight: Learning to fly it did not seem too difficult for me. It only took me a few attempts before I was able to somewhat control where I wanted to hover with the craft. In the test flight I think I did alright for the first time.

The Extras: If you watched the video, you can see that the RC Millennium Falcon Quad has some nice LED lighting effects, and the controller also has sound effects that you can shut off if you want to.

Durable: What I like most about this is that it can take some rough bumps and crashes as most beginners are sure to go through. (Did you see that video?)

Other Notes: The ‘Pre-Flight Checklist’ says that it’s meant for indoor use only and there’s a good reason why. When you pick it up it’s very light. A small wind could definitely blow it out of reach into a tree or a roof. Also, the checklist instructs you not to use rechargeable batteries in the controller, reason saying that it’ll affect the performance.

I can see myself having fun with this for awhile. I wanted a training quadcopter that wasn’t too expensive. Even though there are quadcopters you can purchase for less than $20, I decided on this because of it’s durable body and it’s the Millennium Falcon! I’ve seen others where they couldn’t take an impact.

So, get your own and perform your test flight of the RC Millennium Falcon Quad!

I should note that this isn’t the only Star Wars RC aircraft that’s for sale; there are others you can check out as well.
